Rajasthan Royals (RR) choice to move Ravichandran Ashwin to No. 3 in the run versus Gujarat Titans surprised Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting (GT). In an IPL 2022 encounter on Thursday, the two teams faced off.

At the DY Patil Stadium, GT set a 193-point aim for RR to chase. The team brought in Ashwin as a squeeze after Devdutt Padikkal hit a golden duck. However, the strategy failed, as the seasoned player was dismissed for a run-a-ball eight.

Ben Cutting acknowledged that the decision was perplexing. According to the 35-year-old Ben Cutting,

“Like everybody else, I was taken aback.” I’m not sure what the motivation was behind that. If they’re looking for speedy runs, there are plenty of other individuals who can perform the job just as well, if not better. They are also specialist batsmen. I had 20 overs to think about it, but I couldn’t come up with anything.”

Ferguson’s bowling ability is praised by Ben Cutting:

After already being scooped for a six, Ferguson dismissed Buttler with a wonderfully veiled slower-ball yorker. When asked about the dismissal, Cutting claimed GT needed something special to stop the RR opener’s magnificent innings. The Australian went on to say:

“It was a special inning, and Buttler was caught by a special delivery.” To be able to bowl a slower ball yorker and get it to someone who is hitting the ball as cleanly as he was… Lockie’s bowling style was amazing.”

Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by 37 runs in today’s match. GT batted first and scored 192 runs in 20 overs, losing four wickets. Hardik Pandya, the GT captain, smashed 87 runs off 52 balls. Pandya and Abhinav Manohar put on an 86-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Yuzvendra Chahal, Ryan Parag, and Kuldeep Sen each grabbed a wicket for RR.
