RR vs GT: Revealed - Why Trent Boult Is Not Included In Rajasthan Royals' Playing XI Today
Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Trent Boult will not be taking part in their game against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.
RR skipper Sanju Samson confirmed that Boult is carrying a slight niggle and had to be excluded from the playing XI. In his stead, Boult’s New Zealand teammate, James Neesham, will take the field.
Samson also won his first toss of the IPL 2022 season and expectedly opted to bowl first. Chasing has been the norm this season with a heavy amount of dew setting in during the second innings.
“We’d like to bowl first here. We did a very good job to win the game with dew condition and losing the toss but I’d like to use the conditions. Yesterday, Trent Boult had a small niggle and isn’t available for today’s game. Jimmy Neesham is replacing him,” Samson said after winning the toss.
RR will miss Boult’s effectiveness with the new ball in the powerplay, especially against Gujarat who is quite dependent on its top order to provide good starts.
