Rajasthan Royals batter Rassie van der Dussen’s wife Lara explained how she is misunderstood as opener Jos Buttler’s spouse.

Buttler has been phenomenal for Rajasthan with the bat, scoring 718 runs in 15 innings at a strike rate of 148.35 with three centuries. The Englishman scored 89 off 56 balls in the Qualifier 1 against Gujarat Titans.

IPL 2022: Lara van der Dussen misinterpreted as Jos Buttler’s wife

Whenever Buttler takes the opposition bowlers for cleaners, it is Lara van der Dussen who gets the spotlight because of her exubrance in the stands while cheering for the Royals.

Rassie has played just three IPL games for RR this season but his wife is being misunderstood as Buttler’s wife. In fact, Buttler is married to Lousie Webber and the pair has two daughters ‐ Georgia Rose and Margot.

“I think I’ve now adopted Jos as my second husband it seems

Lara, in a hilarious conversation on Rajasthan Royals official podcast, said she has accepted the England star player as her adopted husband.

“I think I’ve now adopted Jos as my second husband it seems. I’ve been known as Louise, I think that’s what his wife’s name is, I haven’t met her before that makes it worse,” Lara said on Rajasthan Royals Podcast.

“People think I’m Jos’ wife. I definitely think it’s because I’ve been in camera quite a few times. And Dhanashree and I cannot control ourselves next to the field as we are quite invested in the cheering. And Jos has been getting 100s as we go along and maybe the excitement has got people thinking probably I’m part of him, so it’s quite interesting.

“And Rassie has not played as much in the IPL so I haven’t been able to show the same sentiment to him. So I’ll just adopt the cheering for Jos for now on and enjoy it,” she added.

Royals lost to Gujarat Titans by six wickets in the Qualifier 1 after David Miller displayed fireworks in the final over.

The Sanju Samson-led side will play Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Qualifier 2 on Friday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
