Shahbaz Ahmed, an all-rounder for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has praised Dinesh Karthik for changing the tempo of their IPL 2022 clash against the Rajasthan Royals (RR).
When RCB overcame RR in the last over at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, Karthik, hammered 44* off 23 balls, with his exertion rubbing off on Shahbaz.
With 83 runs needed off 45 balls, Shahbaz and Karthik put on a 67-run sixth-wicket stand to help the Bangalore-based team cross the finish line. Shahbaz, who scored 45 in the IPL, expressed his willingness to contribute on crucial occasions.
“This is my third season in this role, and it’s been a long time since I’ve played it.” And now is the time to meet your obligations. Because the initiative has been with RR at one stage, the circumstance was somewhat difficult tonight.”
“However, DK bhai’s capacity to change the tempo in our favor made things simple for me. “And that enthusiasm allowed us to Close the game,” he told a news conference after the game.
Shahbaz Ahmed spoke about his role at the RCB:
Shahbaz Ahmed was tested out as a floater in the previous edition after only appearing in two games in the 2020 season. He’s now declared that he’ll bat at No. 5 or No. 6 continuously. Thus far this year, the left-arm spinner has only delivered 12 deliveries, and he claims that captain Faf du Plessis likes leggie Wanindu Hasaranga should bowl against opposition left-handers.
“In terms of my batting, I’m required to bat whenever the team requires it. “But they’re not going to use me as a floater; I’m going to bat at No. 5 or No. 6 and I’m solely practicing for that,” the 27-year-old stated.
Dinesh Karthik will want to maintain his momentum to have the best opportunity of qualifying for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia later this year.
