Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, And Yashasvi Jaiswal Retained By Rajasthan Royals (RR) For IPL 2022. Rajasthan Royals have announced their retentions for IPL 2022. Today was the deadline to announce the retentions list for IPL 2022. Since two new teams are going to be part of IPL 2022, a mega auction is scheduled to take place ahead of next year’s auction.

Ahead of the auction, all the current 8 franchises were asked to retain a maximum of 4 players in their squad. Out of these, there can be a maximum of 3 domestic players and a maximum of 2 overseas players. Hence for 4 retentions, a franchise can pick either 2 domestic and 2 overseas players or 3 domestic and 1 overseas player. The teams can go with either 1, 2, 3, 4, or 0 retentions.

Rajasthan Royals Announce IPL 2022 Retentions List

Rajasthan Royals have announced their retentions list for IPL 2022. The franchise has retained Sanju Samson in their squad. Sanju Samson was the skipper of the team in the last edition. The team has also retained Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal in their squad.

Rajasthan Royals gave a miserable show in IPL 2021. Out of 14 games, Rajasthan Royals won only 5 matches and lost 9. As a result, they finished on the 7th spot in the points table with 10 points and remained far away from reaching the playoffs.

All 8 teams have announced their retained players. Now, the two new franchises Lucknow and Ahmedabad will be allowed to pick 3 players from the pool of released players. Out of these 3 players, 2 can be Indian players while 1 should be an overseas player.

IPL 2022 mega auction is expected to take place in January 2022. Each team will have a salary purse of Rs. 90 crore during the auction. However, the team will lose some amount for their retained players. Teams will 4 retentions will lose Rs. 42 crore from their salary cap while teams will 3 retained players will lose Rs. 33 crore from their salary purse. Teams with 2 and 1 retained players will observe a deduction of Rs. 24 crore and Rs. 14 crores respectively from their salary cap for IPL 2022 mega auction.
