Umpire Nitin Pandit was seen helping Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 21-year-old left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi in the match after the left-arm pacer pulled up his calf muscle in follow-through.

Fazalhaq Farooqi made his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 54th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) against Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Sunday, May 8 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the incident took place on the first ball of the 17th over of the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s innings when Faf du Plessis was batting alongside Glenn Maxwell.

Fazalhaq Farooqi bowled a low full-toss outside off to Faf du Plessis and got smashed for four. Also, the pacer pulled up his calf muscle on the second step in his follow-through and he was down, which led to umpire Nitin Pandit coming in to help the pacer. Soon the physio also came to check the bowler and apply the spray.

Also, Farooqi was hit on the same right leg by Faf du Plessis’ straight drive on the next delivery and the bowler was once again seen in the pain.

Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and opted to bat and they made no changes to the playing XI in the match. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad made two changes to the playing XI as Fazalhaq Farooqi and Jagadeesha Suchith replaced Sean Abbott and Shreyas Gopal.

Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli opened the innings for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Jagadeesha Suchith opened the attack for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the match and the SRH spinner was able to dismiss the star batter Kohli on the first ball of the match.

However, after Kohli’s dismissal, Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar batted brilliantly. Also, after losing Patidar, Faf du Plessis had a good partnership with Glenn Maxwell.
