Punjab Kings (PBKS) new captain for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) Mayank Agarwal has joined the franchise training camp in Mumbai and received a rousing welcome from his teammates and coaches.
Agarwal was part of the Indian Test squad which played against Sri Lanka in the two-match series in Mohali and Bengaluru. Therefore, he was a direct bubble-to bubble transfer and joined the team directly. The opening batsman made his captaincy debut in KL Rahul’s absence last year and has been named PBKS’ full-time captain for IPL 2022.
As for the captaincy issue of Punjab Kings went they had to look out for a new one after they failed to come to terms with KL Rahul, who will now captain the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2022 edition.

The PBKS franchise spent big bucks in the IPL 2022 auction buying Shikhar Dhawan for INR 8.25 crores. Their last league stage game will be against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 22.
