IPL 2022: Teams Will Be Very Aggressive Going After Mohammed Shami - Brad Hogg Expects At Least 5 Cr For The Pacer In Auction
Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg feels that Indian pacer Mohammed Shami will attract a lot of attention in the upcoming IPL 2022 Mega Auction. He also reckoned David Warner will not go for more than INR 4 cr.
Shami has been in great form in Tests but his white-ball record is quite average. He played for Punjab Kings (PBKS) and had a decent IPL 2021 season.
“All 10 teams will be very aggressive going after Shami, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is up about the 5 Cr mark or more. Don’t see Warner going for anything more than 4 Crore.“
“Ashwin, very economical with the ball, good lower-order batter, last year did not pick up the wickets, but still a very valuable player. I think he will go for 5-7 crores,” Hogg mentioned on his YouTube channel.
“Quinton de Kock might get a surprise” – Brad Hogg
South African batter Quinton de Kock has retired from Tests as he wants to focus completely on the limited-overs format. The decision paid off as he ran riot in the 3-match ODI series against India. He will be a hot target for teams in the auction, as per Hogg.
“Quinton de Kock might get a surprise as he has pulled out from Tests. He’s concentrating on white-ball cricket and that is a good thing for franchise cricket because he does not have to change his game up,” Hogg added.
The list of 590 players has been put up by the BCCI. The auction will be held on February 12 & 13 in Bengaluru.
