IPL Media Rights Sold For Rs 43,255 Crore For Packages A And B – Reports

The Indian Premier League (IPL) media rights for Package A and Package B have been sold for Rs 43,255 crore, according to reports.
The Indian Premier League (IPL), which is a professional T20 cricket league founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007, is India’s biggest cricketing festival. Also, the Indian Premier League has an exclusive window in the ICC Future Tours Programme.

The Indian Premier League media rights E-Auction commenced on Sunday, June 12 in Mumbai from 11 am IST, and the auction was expected to last more than one day and it did happen.
Meanwhile, the biggest media houses in India are fighting to earn the right to broadcast the marquee Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament, which is considered the most prolific T20 cricket league in the world, on their platform.
IPL Media Rights Sold For Rs 43,255 Crore
The Package A of the Indian Premier League media rights was for India’s Television Rights and this bracket was for getting the broadcasting rights within the Indian sub-continent.
Meanwhile, Package B was for India’s Digital Rights and this bracket was for getting the broadcasting rights within the Indian sub-continent.
The base price for Package A was worth Rs. 49 crore per match and the base price for Package B was worth Rs. 33 crore per match.
Meanwhile, the Auction for Packages A & B has been concluded and the IPL media rights have been sold for Rs 43,255 crore with Package A being sold for Rs 23,575 crore and Package B being sold for Rs 19,680 crore.
Also, the packages haven’t gone to the same bidder so the winner of Package A is all set to challenge the winner of Package B at an incremental bid of Rs 1 crore.
