Punjab Kings (PBKS) have been dealt with a massive blow as their skipper, KL Rahul has been diagnosed with Acute Appendicitis and he will undergo surgery to get treated. This certainly means that KL Rahul has been ruled out of IPL 2021 with only a month of the tournament left now to play.
KL Rahul has been the best batsman for Punjab Kings this season as he has led by example and scored the most runs this season. He is also the current Orange Cap holder and Punjab will certainly miss him as they prepare for the second half of the tournament this year. In the last game too, Rahul smashed a scintillating half-century for PBKS and helped PBKS win the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
KL Rahul Likely To Be Ruled Out Of IPL 2021
On Sunday, ahead of their game against Delhi Capitals (DC), Punjab Kings announced on Twitter that KL Rahul had complained of a lot of pain in his abdomen and he was immediately rushed to the hospital. After undergoing several tests, it was discovered that KL had been suffering from acute appendicitis and will need to undergo surgery.
It is indeed a massive blow for the side. If Rahul undergoes surgery, it will be difficult for him to make a comeback in this year’s IPL. In his absence, Chris Gayle might be named as the new skipper of the Punjab-based franchise as he is the most experienced campaigner in the Punjab dugout.

Punjab Kings To Take On Delhi Capitals
Punjab Kings will take on Delhi Capitals in match 29 of IPL 2021 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Delhi Capitals have been in sensational form throughout IPL 2021 as they have gone on to win 5 out of the 7 games that they have played so far. They are coming off a win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the last game.
Punjab Kings, on the other hand, have had a poor start to their IPL 2021 campaign as they have managed to win only 3 out of the 7 games that they have played so far. In their last match, they beat RCB by a margin of 34 runs.
