IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings Are Bigger Chokers Than Kolkata Knight Riders, Says Gautam Gambhir
Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir suggested that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) should be confident heading into the IPL 2021 finals against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the latter has a poor track record in IPL finals.
CSK has entered eight IPL finals prior to this and has won only three of them. As for KKR, the record is quite flawless, with the Men in Purple having won both the finals they have participated in. This should boost the confidence of the KKR dugout, as per Gambhir.
“You gotta look at their track – they have played eight and only won three. If I was in the KKR dugout, I’d say ‘If anything, we’ve got the advantage. Those guys have crumbled under pressure more than what we have.’ So that would be the talk,” Gambhir said in a conversation with ESPNcricinfo.

The former opener continued by stating that going by stats, MS Dhoni-led CSK has had poor performances in the finals of the IPL. Plenty of former experts consider Chennai to be the favorites but Gambhir believes otherwise.
“But I don’t think any of the KKR players will be thinking about that at the moment. They will be itching to get out there and express themselves as much as they can. Just get there and just absorb the occasion and even give more than their 100%,” Gambhir said.
The IPL 2021 final is underway with both sides fielding unchanged squads. KKR skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and opted to field first in Dubai.
