South African speedster Dale Steyn has had the opportunity to get back at those who seemingly made fun of the 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) when it suffered postponement earlier. With the COVID-19 outbreak impacting PSL and forced it to be postponed, it jumped on the 14th season of the Indian Premier League, which also sustained a similar fate. Dale Steyn trolled the fans who rejoiced after Pakistan’s T20 league was deferred in March.

Indian fans had especially relished after PSL 2021 resulted in indefinitely being postponed due to the COVID-19 cases breaking out. The Indian fans rejoiced since they reminded their neighbours how IPL 2020 underwent smoothly in the UAE from October to November. But the 14th season could not go similarly as people from three franchises reported positive cases. It forced the BCCI to call off the tournament indefinitely.

Dale Steyn, who has played in both PSL and IPL, sparked controversy when he said that Pakistan’s tournament is more rewarding than their neighbours’. The veteran fast bowler felt that when playing in IPL, there is a greater emphasis on the amount of money; hence the cricket gets forgotten. At that time, Steyn replied:
Haha you’re funny.

Dale Steyn hopes for every player who participated in IPL 2021 to get home safely:

Dale Steyn, who skipped IPL 2021, bluntly remarked that the virus holds no favourites and does not care. Nevertheless, the 37-year old wishes for all the cricketers who got sick for them to recover and everyone to reach their homes safely.
Covid don’t care.
It has no favorites.Get well to those sick and hopefully everyone else will get home safe and in good health.
