I Think It's On Every Player's Wish List To Play Under MS Dhoni: Moeen Ali

Along with Sam Curran, Moeen Ali also joined the Chennai Super Kings’ bubble after finishing their international commitments. Moeen Ali, who was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore last year, will turn out for the Chennai Super Kings this year. And having already expressed his excitement of playing under MS Dhoni, Ali heaped further praises on the former Indian skipper.

Moeen Ali fetched a hefty price of INR 7 crores in the IPL 2021 auction and will add to Chennai Super Kings’ all-rounders that also has Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Krishnappa Gowtham, and Mitchell Santner. The yellow army would be targetting a comeback from the previous season as they failed to reach the playoffs for the first time in IPL history.

Moeen Ali reveals hearing about MS Dhoni that he helps players improve his game and is aware that a great captain does that. The 33-year old said it’s probably on every player’s bucket list to play under the keeper-batsman, given the confidence and clarity he instills.

“I’ve spoken to players who have played under MS and they tell me how he improves their game. I believe a great captain does that. I think it’s something on every player’s wish list to play under MS. I think it’s the confidence and the clarity he gives people. It’s exciting,” the England all-rounder said as quoted by India Today.

The spin-bowling all-rounder felt fortunate to have a strong leadership group and coaching staff as they consistently help take the pressure off the players. Moeen Ali targets winning the competition this year with the Super Kings and excited to play alongside the players they have.

“It’s very important to have strong leadership and coaches who stay calm, who take the pressure off the players as much as they can and are consistent. We are very lucky we have that. At CSK I feel the reality is there for us to win the competition. I’m excited about playing with the players we have here,” he added.
