Rajasthan Royals won the inaugural IPL in 2008 and ever since that, they have been wanting to put their hands on the championship trophy and win their second title. Shane Warne took them to victory through his captaincy and no one fancied them to win the competition as they lacked big names.

Royals management has changed now and they have been spending big bucks in the auction for star players. They broke the bank for Chris Morris in the recent IPL auction which went to become the most expensive purchase in the IPL history. Royals will have a new captain in Sanju Samson for this IPL and here are 4 stars from Rajasthan Royals who will have the onus of winning the title.

4 Stars From Rajasthan Royals(RR) Who Will Have The Onus Of Winning The Title:

Jos Buttler:

Jos Buttler is one of those 360-degree players who can hit sixes to all parts of the ground and Rajasthan will bank n him a lot to come good. Buttler had an excellent IPL in 2018 and had a great impact on the team’s progress to the playoffs in that year. He has had two decent seasons in the last two years.

He finished the last season with 328 runs in 13 IPL games and had to change his batting order to get the right balance. But, he is expected to open the batting this year and he has done really well while opening for the Royals. He is a match-winner and his form will be crucial if the Royals have to make it to the playoffs and win the title.

Ben Stokes:

Ben Stokes has been arguable, the best all-rounder in world cricket right now in all three formats and he was bought in the IPL Auction for a huge amount. However, he hasn’t been able to score freely in the middle order for the Rajasthan Royals and his lack of form has been a major concern for them.

He was sent up the order towards the backend of the season and it paid immediate dividends as he scored a magnificent century to take Rajasthan home against the Mumbai Indians. He is a wicket-taker with the ball and is a  terrific fielder and covers a lot of basis for the Royals. He will have a lot to offer for the Royals this season too.

Sanju Samson:

The Kerala youngster was recently dropped from the Indian limited-overs squad after not making enough impact in the opportunities provided to him. He has been handed over the captaincy for the upcoming year and this will be the best opportunity to make a comeback into the Indian team by having a good IPL season.

Sanju Samson started off the IPL brilliantly in the last season but tapered off and this has been the storyline of his career in the IPL. Rajasthan doesn’t have a lot of experience in the Indian core and they rely a lot on Samson who has been around for a long time now. The 26-year-old will be working with a new head coach and a lot will be expected from him in this IPL too.

Chris Morris:

With Jofra Archer recovering from his injury, the onus will be on Chris Morris to lead the pace attack and he will have to satisfy the big price tag on him. Morris being the bowling all-rounder who can tonk the ball coming down the order and his four overs can be a threat for the opponents.

Morris played 9 games in the IPL last year and took 11 wickets and was really good at times in the death overs and the powerplay. He will not have a big burden to fill as Archer will not be available straight away and the pressure will be on him to deliver the goods. Morris was bought for prize money of 16.25 crores and it might be a bit high for the South African considering the injury concerns he has.
