Royal Challengers Bangalore has somehow carried the burden of not winning an IPL title since the inaugural edition despite having picked up a lot of big names from the auction. They have come closest a lot of times by reaching the finals but haven’t been able to get over the line.

RCB has two of the biggest match-winners in the last decade with Virat Kohli and AB Devilliers, and they had the likes of Chris Gayle in the side until 2018 but still did not have the luck of getting their hands on the championship. They had a good season last year and reached the playoffs.

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli will be looking to make the IPL 2021 big by winning the title for the first time in their thirteen years. Kohli has a tremendous record in all formats for India and has been part of the winning campaigns in most of the ICC tournaments and he will be itching to feel an IPL trophy win.

Kohli holds the record for the most number of runs in IPL overall in the history with 5878 runs in 192 IPL games and he can take the team over the line when he is in red hot form. He also holds the record for the most number of runs in an IPL season with more than 900 runs in the 2016 season and he will key to RCB’s success.

AB Devilliers:

AB Devilliers has been another name that has been one of the most consistent performers in the RCB team for a long time now. He has retired from international cricket but is still part of the IPL and has been playing franchise cricket around the world. He is one of the best fielders in the world too.

He is popularly called the Mr.360 due to his ability to play in all directions of the field and has the ability to hit the long balls consistently. He has won a lot of games from tough situations and he is certainly a man for the crisis. He and Virat need to make sure that they build long partnerships which can take the opponent away from the game.

Yuzvendra Chahal:

The Indian leg spinner has been the best bowler for RCB over the years and he has been quite economical too considering that the other bowlers have gone for plenty in the small Bangalore ground. A lot of credit has to be given to the way he has bowled with so much heart and has never been afraid to toss it up in the air and deceive the batsman in flight.

Chahal finished as the fifth-highest wicket-taker for RCB last year taking 21 wickets in the 15 games he played and also was the only spinner in the top five wicket-taker list last season. He has been going through a rough patch in international cricket and this is the best time for him to make a comeback and win the trophy for his franchise.

Glenn Maxwell:

Glenn Maxwell is the latest addition to the RCB franchise this year for a whopping 14.25 crore and his big price money will be an added pressure on him to deliver after a poor season for Punjab Kings last year. However, the teams were ready to pick him up in the auction due to his striking power.

Maxwell had an excellent IPL in 2014 and has not been able to perform up to his expectation since that. RCB have roped in Maxwell to bring firepower in the middle order and he can change the game on its head in a short period of time. Maxwell can have a big impact on the franchise if he is in form and a lot will be expected out of him.
