Chris Jordan is a clever bowler in the T20 format and has played around the globe for various franchises. With the amount of experience, he has, he should be able to pick up wickets at regular intervals even if he is expensive. He was one of the three overseas players retained by the Punjab franchise ahead of the auction.

Jordan can bat at 7 which will be handy for the Punjab Kings and it could be a toss-up between him and Riley Meredith for a spot in the playing XI. He has taken 21 wickets in the 20 games he has played so far in his IPL career.

4. Ravi Bishnoi

One of the rising talents in Indian cricket is Ravi Bishnoi who was extremely successful for the Indian U-19 side. He had an impressive start to his IPL career and stopped the run flow most of the time. With Anil Kumble as the coach, he is expected to improve massively and could be a match-winner for the Punjab franchise.

He picked up 12 wickets in the 14 games he played in the last season and his economy rate was just 7.37 which shows that the batsman has felt it hard to hit the leggie. He is a wicket-taker always and will be hoping to get a lot more wickets this season.

3. Murugan Ashwin

The leg spinner from Tamil Nadu has gained a little bit of experience in the IPL and is looking to become a handy bowler for his franchise. He started his career for the Rising Pune Supergiants and his growth has been evident in the last few years. He has played 31 games so far in his IPL career picking up 25 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 7.76.

He formed a good partnership with Ravi Bishnoi in the last edition and held the middle overs together really well. They have shown a lot of maturity despite their early days in the IPL and this could be a breakout year for him.

2. Jhye Richardson

Jhye Richardson was bought for a huge amount of money in the auction for his ability to pick up a lot of wickets. He finished as the leading wicket-taker in the Big Bash League and has earned his spot in Australia again. His ability to swing the new ball and the variations in the death overs will be crucial to the Punjab King’s success.

This will be the maiden IPL season for him and a lot will be expected from him due to the price tag on him. He picked up 29 wickets in the BBL in just 17 games and could provide good support for Mohammad Shami.
