Rajasthan Royals (RR) will commence their IPL 2021 journey with the first match against Punjab Kings. The match will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 12, 2021. Rajasthan Royals had a very poor performance in IPL 2020 as they finished on the last 8th spot on the points table. After the team’s flop show last season, the owners released skipper Steve Smith from the team and promoted Sanju Samson as the new skipper for IPL 2021.

Rajasthan Royals released 8 players from the team including Steve Smith. Akash Singh, Anirudha Joshi, Ankit Rajpoot, Oshane Thomas, Shashank Singh, Tom Curran, and Varun Aaron were the other players who were dropped from the squad. During IPL 2021 auction, Rajasthan Royals bought 8 new players. They are Chris Morris, Shivam Dube, Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman, Liam Livingstone, K.C Cariappa, Akash Singh, and Kuldip Yadav.

Recently, Rajasthan Royals faced a big blow after Jofra Archer suffered an elbow injury. Jofra Archer is Rajasthan Royals’ crucial pacer and he will miss IPL 2021 due to recovery.

However, the Rajasthan Royals will aim to overcome this obstacle and give their best in the tournament. Here we talk about 5 reasons why Rajasthan Royals are favourites to win the title in IPL 2021.

Even after the ouster of Jofra Archer, Rajasthan Royals have two strong English players in their team. Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes are part of Rajasthan Royals. Both are incredible batsmen while Ben Stokes is also a great bowler. Both of them can wreak havoc in IPL 2021 and can be the reason behind Rajasthan Royals’ success in IPL 2021.

Rajasthan Royals have many all-rounders in the team. Ben Stokes, Riyan Parag, Shreyas Gopal, Rahul Tewatia, Mahipal Lomror, Chris Morris, and Shivam Dube are all-rounders as they can perform with both bat and the ball. This will be a great advantage for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021.

Strong Openers

Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, and Jos Buttler will be the players who can open the innings for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021. All these three players are brilliant hard-hitting batsmen. If any two of them open the innings for Rajasthan Royals, the team will have strong openers in IPL 2021.

Rajasthan Royals is the team that won the first IPL tournament in 2008. After becoming the winner in the first tournament, Rajasthan Royals have never gone closer to another title. Rajasthan Royals have never entered the finals after IPL 2008. Hence, hunger for their 2nd title will be prevalent among Rajasthan Royals’ players. This will motivate the players to clinch the trophy in IPL 2021.
