Rajasthan Royals (RR0 won the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008 and they will be looking to have a good season under the newly appointed captain Sanju Samson. Rajasthan Royals broke the bank in the IPL Auction 2021 with a whopping 16.25 crore for Chris Morris, who became the most expensive player in IPL history.

Royals also bought Shivam Dube for 4.4 crores to strengthen their inexperienced Indian middle-order and they have let go of Steve Smith which wasn’t surprising with the Australian’s form in IPL 2020. Royals finished at the last position in the points table last year which they would be hoping to improve on.

IPL 2021: 5 Reasons Why Rajasthan Royals (RR) Can Win The Title This Year:

5. Strong Overseas Contignent

Rajasthan Royals have four world-class overseas players who can win games on their own. Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, and Chris Morris are more likely to be the preferred overseas players due to their extraordinary abilities. Royals have always relied a lot on their overseas players from the past.

Royals have always lacked the backups for these strong overseas players, but this year they were wise enough to buy Mustafizur Rahman, Andrew Tye, Liam Livingstone, and David Miller who are in good touch and are raring to go.

4. Batting Depth

Royals have the tendency to bat deep which has had an impact in their last season. Rahul Tewatia and Jofra Archer’s lower order contribution in the last IPL had won them games. Shreyas Gopal is also a handy batsman in the domestic circuit and he comes in at 9 which shows the depth in their batting.

Chris Morris’s addition will bolster their batting a little more and he can certainly hit some lusty blows at the back end of the innings. Tewatia had an impressive outing in his last season with the bat and the Royals will be hoping he can provide the same impact in this season too.

3. Ben Stokes’s Promotion

Ben Stokes who has been struggling to find his form in IPL for the last couple of years was promoted up the order and it paid off immediately for them as he notched up a fine century towards the back end of the tournament. It was a great positive for the Rajasthan Royals who were expecting a lot from the English all-rounder.

Ben Stokes’s promotion to the top order has meant that Jos Buttler will be shouldering the responsibility of carrying the middle order. Apart from his batting, Stokes is a wicket-taker with the ball and he will have to bring his bowling skills into a display for the Rajasthan fans.

2. The Presence of Archer and Buttler

Jofra Archer is one of the best bowlers in the world going around and can bowl at some serious pace. He has a wide range of variations and can bring out the toe-crushing yorkers time and time. He will be the spearhead of the bowling attack and his four overs will be crucial to the success of the Rajasthan Royals team.

Jos Buttler single-handedly took the team to the playoffs in the IPL 2018 after being promoted up the order and had a good season in 2019 IPL too. He can play the lap shots and is a 360-degree player which makes it hard for the captains to set the field for him. He is one of the best T20 batsmen in the world.

1.Addition Of Chris Morris

Chris Morris who had previously represented the Rajasthan Royals will be playing for them again in the IPL 2021 and he will have a large role to play in Rajasthan’s success. He has been mainly picked with his ability to tonk in the middle order and for his ability to bowl yorkers.

He can reduce the pressure on Archer who has been carrying the bowling attack single-handedly and hence Rajasthan can separate the eight overs of the two fast bowlers. The 33-year-old had a decent season with RCB and will look to fulfil the expectations on him.
