IPL 2021: Aakash Chopra Impressed With Eoin Morgan's Captaincy In The UAE Phase

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra opined that KKR skipper Eoin Morgan has been spot on with his tactics in the second phase of IPL 2021 especially. KKR started the UAE phase at seventh position in the points table and they have made sure that they stuck to their youngsters who have been phenomenal for them.

They have moved into the playoffs as well with an excellent net run rate at the back end and won the eliminator as well for the RCB side. They will now be the most feared team and Delhi Capitals will have task their against KKR in qualifier 2.

Aakash Chopra mentioned that he is impressed by Morgan’s captaincy in the second phase of IPL 2021 and the franchise has a lot to like in them. He added Morgans’ batting form might be a concern and doubted if Morgan has had enough chances with the bat to improve his form.

“Kolkata is doing really well. I am liking the team a lot. They are playing very well and Morgan’s captaincy has been much better in the second half as compared to the first half. He has still not scored runs with the bat, nor is he giving himself enough chances.” Aakash Chopra told on his Youtube Channel

Aakash Chopra mentioned that Eoin Morgan has made sure that his form hasn’t affected the team by coming down the order and added that Dinesh Karthik is almost in the category. He also reckoned that the team’s main contribution has come from the youngsters which is one of the biggest positives referring to Venkatesh Iyer, Gill, Rana, or Varun Chakravarthy.

“It is an admission that he does not have the form, so he will send the others ahead. Not that Dinesh Karthik has scored too many runs. But this team is running on young Indians, which is phenomenal – whether it is Venkatesh Iyer, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Varun Chakravarthy or Shivam Mavi.” He added
