IPL 2021: After The Break, I Backed Myself – Yuzvendra Chahal After Winning Player Of The Match Award Against RR

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal won the player of the match award in the 43rd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 against Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Yuzvendra Chahal looked outstanding in the game against Rajasthan Royals. Notably, he came to bowl his first over of the match after 10 overs and did a great job for the Virat Kohli-led side.

He managed to scalp the wickets of Mahipal Lomror in the 13th over of the game and Liam Livingstone in the 17th over of the game. Overall, he finished his 4 overs spell at 2 wickets for 18 runs.

During the post-match presentation, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) leg-spinner revealed his game plan against Mahipal Lomror and told that he planned to bowl wider against the Rajasthan Royals batter. Talking about his game plan against Liam Livingstone he told that he planned to bowl a little slower. Chahal said:

Two left-handers were batting so Virat planned to go with the medium-pacers. I have watched his (Lomror) videos, he’s very good on the leg-side. If he comes down, I will bowl wider, With Livingstone, I bowled a little bit slower.”

In The First Half Of IPL, I Didn’t Get Wickets – Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal further acknowledged that the first half of the season was not very good for him, However, after the Sri Lanka limited-overs series, He got his confidence back. Yuzvendra Chahal elaborated:

 “In the first half of IPL, I didn’t get wickets in the first three-four matches. After the break, I backed myself. I bowled well in the SL series and I got my confidence back. I wanted to maintain that momentum here.”

Meanwhile, after the 7 wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have retained their number 3 spot and have 14 points in 11 games.
