Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja mentioned that it is impossible for Mumbai Indians to win by 170 runs and qualify for the playoffs despite them being a strong side. Kolkata Knight Riders went on to win their fixture against Rajasthan Royals yesterday convincingly and they have an excellent net run rate at the moment.

Mumbai Indians will now have to win by 170 runs in their game against Sunrisers Hyderabad if they have to qualify for IPL 2021 playoffs and the chances of that happening are very less at the moment. If Mumbai Indians win the toss and bowl first, then they are automatically out of the race for IPL 2021 playoffs.

“Sometimes You Have To Accept You Were Outplayed” – Ajay Jadeja

Ajay Jadeja mentioned that scoring 200 is a possibility for Mumbai Indians whereas winning by 170 runs is impossible against SRH. He also made it clear that Mumbai Indians have left it too late to worry and added that the tournament is very intense with eight teams putting their every effort to win games.

“Mumbai Indians scoring 200 and winning against SunRisers Hyderabad is a possibility. But winning by 170 runs is impossible and it’s coming from a Mumbai Indians fan. Mumbai Indians will stand nowhere when chasing a total. Sometimes you have to accept you were outplayed and eight teams fight tooth and nail to win,” Ajay Jadeja on Cricbuzz.

A Big blow for Mumbai Indians – Ajay Jadeja

Ajay Jadeja mentioned that this will be a big blow to the Mumbai Indians as they were riding high on confidence and added that the management will also be disappointed. He also reckoned that KKR has been the side that misses out on net run rate always and they needed this desperately.

“I think it’s a big blow for Mumbai Indians, given they were so high on confidence. So, the support staff and fans will be disappointed. But KKR have always been unfortunate due to the net run rate.” He added
