IPL 2021: Brad Hogg Believes CSK Captain MS Dhoni Was Cooler Than The KKR Captain Eoin Morgan In The Summit Clash

Former Australian left-arm spinner Brad Hogg has opined that in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 final, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni was cooler than the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Eoin Morgan.
Chennai Super Kings ( CSK) won their 4th championship by defeating Eoin Morgan’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 27 runs at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 15.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Brad Hogg highlighted that both Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) MS Dhoni gave the opposition batters a chance to survive. Notably, Dinesh Karthik missed the stumping of Faf Du Plessis, who smashed a half-century. Also, MS Dhoni dropped a simple catch of man in-form Venkatesh Iyer who too smashed a fifty. Brad Hogg stated:
“Both the keepers had a bit of a nightmare early on. Karthik missing the stumping of du Plessis was a big momemt in the game and then we had MS Dhoni, the legend, dropping Venkatesh Iyer early on and then he also played a good knock.”

“If Iyer had knocked around for around 3 or 4 more overs he could have got KKR into a more commanding position because Gill was not able to up the tempo. I’ve got to say MS Dhoni was a little bit cooler than Morgan when it came to captaincy.”
MS Dhoni Was Not Running Upto His Bowlers And Trying To Slow Things Down – Brad Hogg

The former Australian spinner pointed out that MS Dhoni made sure the bowlers executed their plans perfectly, unlike Eoin Morgan, who created pressure on the bowlers. Brad Hogg asserted:
“MS Dhoni was not running upto his bowlers and trying to slow things down and make sure they were ready with the plan. When you go into the finals, you don’t want to try and change the momentum, you have to make sure the bowlers are in rhythm. Morgan was standing in front of the bowler during the back end of the CSK innings, what that does to a bowler is that he loses his momentum and tends to be negative as well.”
