IPL 2021: David Warner Watches SRH vs KKR Match From Stands In Dubai, Shares A Photo

Former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain David Warner was seen in stands at the Dubai International cricket stadium where he was rooting for his team against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) encounter and shared a photo with some SRH players on his official Instagram account.

This comes after the fact that David Warner was not at the stadium when SRH had faced Rajasthan Royals in their previous match which was played in Dubai on September 27, 2021. Instead, Warner was watching the match from the comforts of his hotel room, which fueled the rumors of him parting with the franchise, whom he captained to the Indian Premier League (IPL) title in 2016.

SRH coach Trevor Bayliss said the SRH think tank wanted to give as much game time as possible to the youngsters when asked why David Warner was dropped from the playing XI after he managed just 0 and 2 in the two matches he played in UAE-leg for the SRH team. In fact, he made 195 runs in 8 matches in IPL 2021 as a whole with two half-centuries.

“We can’t make the final so have made a decision that we want the young players to experience not just the matches but time at the ground, around the set-up, and for this match we made the decision. He was not the only experienced player we left back at the hotel,” Bayliss said during a post-match press conference after the Rajasthan Royals encounter.

Speculations were rife after David Warner’s reply to a fan who asked where the left-handed opener was in the Dubai stadium when SRH faced RR a few days ago. Warner had hinted that he could miss the rest of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Indian Premier League matches after being dropped for the second time this season. “Unfortunately won’t be again, but please keep supporting,” Warner had replied.

However, things seem to have changed a bit as David Warner was present in the Dubai International Cricket stadium when the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced off against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Unfortunately, he wasn’t present in the dugout with the remainder of players from the Hyderabad franchise but was sitting in the stands, from where he posted a photo with a couple of SRH players including Virat Singh.
