Once again Covid-19 has entered the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 this time in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The left-arm seamer of team Sunrisers Hyderabad T Natarajan has been tested positive just before the match against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Wednesday, September 22. Although he is currently asymptomatic.

Also, it has been revealed that there were as many as six people in close contact with the fast bowler and they are in isolation. Among the six players who are in close contact with T Natarajan one of them is all-rounder Vijay Shankar and the others are managers and net bowlers.

After the news broke out, other members of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) contingent underwent RT-PCR tests and fortunately, all the players and members returned with a COVID-19 negative report.

So the 33rd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 between Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium will go ahead as per schedule.

“The rest of the contingent including the close contacts underwent RT-PCR tests at 5AM local time this morning and the test reports are negative. As a result, tonight’s game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals will go ahead at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai,” the media advisory from IPL added.

Meanwhile, Both the teams had contrary outings in the first phase of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC) were sitting at the top of the points table with 6 victories in 8 games. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad was placed at bottom of the table as they lost 6 out of 7 games in the India leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

Delhi Capitals will be looking forward to carrying their momentum from the first leg of IPL 2021. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad will be hoping for a better outcome this time.
