Chasing the target Royal Challengers Bangalore had a complete opposite start and the openers Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli got out under the score of 6. However, Srikar Bharat and Glenn Maxwell once again batted brilliantly for RCB.
In the end both the players completed their half-centuries and helped RCB win the thrilling encounters by 7 wickets.
We Know How Important Fielding Is In T20s – Rishabh Pant
During the post-match presentation, Rishabh Pant expressed his disappointment with the fielding effort of the team. Notably, Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin dropped crucial catches in the game which costed DC the match. Rishabh Pant stated:
“We know how important fielding is in T20s. If you field the way we did, you deserve to lose.”
Pant asserted that they lost way too many wickets while batting first and hoped for a better fielding outcome in the next game. Rishabh Pant stated:
“We also lost too many wickets while batting. But we will have to field better next time, I guess.”
The wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant acknowledged that the surface was not pacer friendly and the poor fielding made the job tough for them. Pant said:
” It was difficult for the fast bowlers with the dew, but the fielding has to support the bowling unit. We are not feeling great because you want to win these kind of matches.”
Meanwhile, even after the loss, Delhi Capitals remained in the number one position in the points table and they will lock horns with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in qualifier 1.
