Losing the toss and batting first, RR openers Evin Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal provided an amazing start to Rajasthan Royals (RR). As they added 77 runs from 50 balls. Notably, after openers were sent back to the dugout, no Rajasthan Royals batsmen managed to leave an impact and eventually the innings of Rajasthan Royals ended at 149/9.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal started the chase in fashion for RCB smashing back-to-back boundaries. However, Mustafizur Rahman broke their partnership by dismissing Devdutt Padikkal in the 6th over and soon Kohli also lost his wicket.

However, with Glenn Maxwell’s amazing half-century and with Srikar Bharat’s brilliant 44, RCB managed to get past the finish line.

After the loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore, the Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson during the post-match presentation stated that the middle order batting unit failed to capitalise on the start given by the openers. He asserted:

“We got a really good start, our openers played really well, but we couldn’t capitalize on it. Think the middle-order needs some confidence, it has been a hard one week for us, we need to put up a good fight.”

He added:

The wicket was a bit two paced, so the batters couldn’t time the ball properly, they kept mistiming it.”

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson was very happy to see the intent showed by the bowling unit of Rajasthan Royals. He further acknowledged that they don’t have anything to lose so now they can play with freedom. Samson stated:

“I’m happy with the intent put in by the bowlers. We don’t have anything to lose and that gives a lot of freedom to go out and express ourselves. Funny things can happen in IPL, we need to keep believing till the last match we play.
