Chasing the target Royal Challengers Bangalore openers Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli failed miserably and were able to add only 3 runs.

However, Srikar Bharat and Glenn Maxwell provided some stability to RCB by playing excellent knocks and in the end, Maxwell and Bharat led Royal Challengers Bangalore towards victory with the latter smashing a six on the last ball when RCB needed 5 to win.

Srikar Bharat after winning the Player of the Match award for his sensational 78 runs said he felt amazing finishing off the innings for the team. He stated:

“It was great winning on the last ball. It was an incredible feeling to finish it off.

Bharat further told that he was not at all nervous during any point of the game and had regular communications with experienced batter Glenn Maxwell. Srikar Bharat asserted:

“Maxwell and I were communicating in the centre well. At any point, I wasn’t nervous at all. Tried to stay in the present and was looking for the opportunity in the last ball after the wide.”

Srikar Bharat signed off by saying that he worked hard to get to this position and he feels nothing “comes for free”. Bharat stated:

” I work on my batting against spinners. I don’t believe in anything coming for free, so I work hard for it.”

Meanwhile, the win over Delhi Capitals won’t have any impact on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) position in the points table and they remain at the number 3 spot. Also, RCB will go head-to-head with Eoin Morgan-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the eliminator of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
