Josh Hazlewood was adjudged as player of the match award in the 44th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday, September 30.

Notably, Josh Hazlewood picked 3 wickets for 24 runs in his complete 4 overs spell. He started by dismissing in-form batsman Jason Roy in the 4th over. After that, he dismissed two set batsman Abdul Samad and Abhishek Sharma to stop Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) from posting a big total.

During the post-match presentation, the Australian fierce pacer told that he puts in a lot of hard work to learn new things every time. Josh Hazlewood said:

I put in a lot of hard work and learnt a lot every game. It’s hard to learn since there’s a different team every game, but it’s satisfying.”

Further, Hazlewood talked about scalping the big wicket is explosive English batsman Jason Roy and said that the wicket was a crucial one for CSK. He elaborated:

Getting Roy was a big wicket, and it was good to put the pressure back on them early. The wicket offered a little bit, it was on the slower side and a little low as well.”

Meanwhile, Josh Hazlewood signed off by stating that he has been learning a lot from the veteran West Indies All-rounder Dwayne Bravo in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp. He asserted:

We are happy we are applying whatever we are doing in the practice. It’s good to learn from DJ Bravo over the last few weeks too, and it’s been a great learning curve for me.”

Meanwhile, with the 6 wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have retained their number 1 spot and has officially become the first team to qualify for playoffs with 18 points in just 11 games.
