Sunil Narine was adjudged as player of the match in the 41st match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 between Eoin Morgan-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, September 28.

Notably, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) registered their 5th victory of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 by defeating Delhi Capitals by 3 wickets. Currently, they are ranked number 4 with 10 points under their belt in 11 games.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner Sunil Narine, was the MVP of the team, He contributed both with bat and ball and helped his team win the game against team Delhi Capitals (DC) which is considered as one of the strongest sides in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

Narine, who picked 2 wickets conceding just 18 runs in the first innings, played an excellent cameo of 21 runs while chasing the target for KKR.

During the post-match presentation, the West Indies spinner said that he knew that spinners will get some help from the Sharjah surface.

“Watching a few games here, knew there’s a bit of spin here. Didn’t want to get too full. I’ve been through a lot.”

He gave the credit to the bowling coach of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for his performance. The 33-year-old stated:

“Need to give credit to bowling coach, that’s a plus and that’s been key for me to come back.”

Meanwhile, Sunil Narine signed off by saying that he is delighted to see hard work finally paying off. He elaborated:

“Batting in the middle-order is challenging. It’s pleasing to see hard work paying off after a long time. I think we are playing some good cricket. A few niggles, but that said we are playing good cricket.”
