IPL 2021: Just Tried To Keep It Simple – Nathan Coulter-Nile After Winning Man Of The Match Award Against RR

Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile was awarded man of the match in the 51st match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, October 5.

Losing the toss and batting first, Rajasthan Royals (RR) had a poor show as they only posted 90 runs on the board with Evin Lewis being the highest run-scorer with 24 runs in his bag.

Speedster Nathan Coulter-Nile shined from the Mumbai Indians (MI) bowling unit as he scalped 4 wickets at an economy of 3.50. He scalped wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Glenn Phillips, David Miller and Chetan Sakariya. Other than Nathan Coulter-Nile, James Neesham and Jasprit Bumrah picked 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

Chasing the target Rohit Sharma smashed 14 runs in the first over but lost his wicket in the 4th over. Also, Suryakumar Yadav smashed some fours but got out after scoring 13. In the end, Ishan Kishan smashed fifty batting at the strike rate of 200 to help Mumbai Indians win the match by 8 wickets.

Just Tried To Change The Pace A Little – Nathan Coulter-Nile

After winning the man of the match award, Nathan Coulter-Nile during the post-match presentation ceremony stated that he just kept things very simple and changed his pace which helped him to shine. He stated:

Just tried to keep it simple. Was a tough wicket to bat on. Just tried to change the pace a little.”

Further, Nathan Coulter-Nile added that he is not ‘fussed’ when he comes to bowl his spell. He elaborated:

” It was sticking a little. I am not fussed when I am bowled. There are world class bowlers in our side and hope they can pick a few more and I will have my job easier.”

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians (MI) will next lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and if they win the match and Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeats Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their next game then Mumbai Indians will qualify for the playoffs.
