If You Are Set Batsman, You Have To Finish The Job By Taking It Deep – Ruturaj Gaikwad
The 24-year-old said that it’s a job of a set batsman to take his team towards the finish line. He stated:
” If you are set batsman, you have to finish the job by taking it deep.
Further, Gaikwad added that he got out on the 40s in some games even when everything was in control which led to MS Dhoni advising him to finish the games. Ruturaj elaborated:
“There were a couple of matches where I got out in the 40s when things were under control and not much was needed. That’s when he came up and said, you are capable of finishing matches and you should try and do that because that is what separates a good player and a great player.
“He put a lot of emphasis on that. And I told him I too want to head in that direction.”
Under the leadership of MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was able to win their 4th Indian Premier League (IPL) title in IPL 2021 by defeating Eoin Morgan’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 27 runs at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 15.
