Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant had rich praises for his bowlers, terming the attack as “one of the best” in the league, as they take the top spot in the points table again following a 33-run victory over the Rajasthan Royals on Saturday in Abu Dhabi. With 16 points now, DC have also qualified for the playoffs.
This victory came on the back of a thumping bowling performance which stopped RR for 121 runs in their chase of 155; all of Delhi’s 5 bowlers took at least one wicket.
Rishabh Pant explained that the bowlers plan for the opposition and specific batters in them. He also spoke about R Ashwin, who struggled in the first half of the season taking just one wicket then, but now seems to have found back his mojo.

“[On his bowling attack] If not the best, it is one of the best. But we like to take it as one match at a time. There’s a fair bit of planning, as a team we plan according to the batters, and execute according to those plans. Ashwin likes to set his own fields,” Rishabh Pant said at the post-match conference.
We have batted together for a long time: Rishabh Pant on batting with Shreyas Iyer
Rishabh Pant, who was retained as captain of the side despite of Shreyas Iyer returning from injury, stressed on their partnership and form. He stated that them batting in the middle-order helps the side, and that is what he is focused on.

“I am happy with my form. As long as the team is winning, I am happy. [On playing with Shreyas] We have batted together for a long time. He bats 3 and I bat 5 normally. So that helps,” the wicketkeeper elaborated.
The Capitals will next go to Sharjah to take on the in-form Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday.
