Mumbai Indians’ leg-spinner Rahul Chahar has made quite the statement in the ongoing edition of IPL as he has been amongst the highest wicket-takers. Rahul Chahar has been a mystery for the batsmen to decode at the Chepauk pitch in Chennai. Having already bagged seven wickets in three matches, the 21-year old remains two victims adrift of snaring the purple cap. Neverthless, the youngster does not stay behind as far as fashion statement goes.

Apart from his mystery bowling, Rahul Chahar is also renowned for his unique hairstyle and he took to his official Instagram handle to reveal the person behind his unique hairstyle. It turns out that it is his longtime partner or girlfriend Ishani, who he got engaged to in late 2019. He posted their photo together and wrote a caption as, “Meet my Hairstylist,”. The pair has been together for four years.

Rahul Chahar earned praises from Mumbai Indians’ head coach Mahela Jayawardene following his match-winning bowling spells against Kolkata Knight Riders and SunRisers Hyderabad. Jayawardene admired the wrist-spinner for changing his gameplan as per the situation and the team management remains satisfied with his progress, claiming him as the leader of the spin-bowling department.

“As a coach and as a management team, we are happy with his progress. He has developed intelligence. It is not just about skills. Having a game-plan and executing or changing it depending on what batsmen is doing [- he has that ability],” said Jayawardene while speaking to the media on Chahar’s ability to improvise. We are happy with the way he has come out. He is a leader in our bowling group, the spin department,” Jayawardene said as quoted by News18.

Mahela Jayawardene claimed that even last year in the UAE, the Rajasthan-born cricketer bowled well. The former Sri Lankan captain lamented his execution early on; however, he feels that Chahar gets better and better by learning constantly.

Even in UAE, the last season he bowled well. He had his ups and downs. He wasn’t [initially] consistent in his execution. But every year we see improvement in Rahul. Mind you, he is still a young player. We feel he has been around for a long time but he is also learning,” the 43-year old added.
