Rajasthan Royals batsman Riyan Parag revealed his conversation with Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman in the match against Punjab Kings. On Tuesday, Rajasthan Royals pulled off a thrilling win against Kl Rahul’s side despite the match was in Punjab’s favour till the final over.

Thanks to young bowler Kartik Tyagi’s breathtaking final over, where Punjab needed just four runs with Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram well settled at the crease.

The Uttar Pradesh bowler conceded just one run in a nerve-wracking situation and got the wickets of Pooran and Deepak Hooda to help the Royals turn the match by two runs.

I told Mustafizur Rahman that do not to let it finish: Riyan Parag

Punjab needed eight runs off 12 balls with Mustafizur Rahman and Tyagi bowling some great spells, in the end, to turn the tables completely in their team’s favour.

Parag said that he spoke to Mustafizur on the field to not let them get past and they still had the chance of winning the games.

“The mood is really nice, cricket is a really funny game. We were in the driving seat after the first innings but we were poor in the field, the game was slipping away.

“In the 19th over, I was at mid-off, I told Mustafizur Rahman that do not to let it finish in this over and we can have a chance in the final two overs. Defending eight runs of last two overs was incredible,” Parag said during a virtual press conference.

We had a bad day in the field: Riyan Parag

Rajasthan Royals dropped KL Rahul three times in the powerplay overs and the Punjab captain made life difficult for them before he was dismissed by Chetan Sakariya in the 12th over.

“This is the number one spell I have seen in all my career, but I hope Kartik does it for us in the rest of the matches as well. We had a bad day in the field, I rate myself as one of the best fielders, but in the end, I am human and I can drop a catch too,” Parag said.

Rajasthan Royals regained the fifth spot after winning their fourth match in the tournament and will face Delhi Capitals on September 25 in Abu Dhabi.
