Delhi Capitals (DC) spin bowling all-rounder Axar Patel won the man of the match award in the 50th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday, 4th of October.

Losing the toss and batting first Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost some quick wickets and were on the back foot. However, Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu stabilised the inning by adding 70 runs from 64 balls and Chennai managed to score 136 runs.
Meanwhile, Chasing the target Prithvi Shaw got out after scoring 18 off 12. Also, 6 DC batsmen were sent back to the dugout before the score of 100. However, Shimron Hetmyer batted brilliantly and helped Delhi Capitals win the game by three wickets and become the number one ranked team in the points table.
It Is Difficult But Important To Assess The Lines And The Speeds – Axar Patel

After winning the Man of the Match award winner for the amazing spell of 2 wickets for 18 run Axar Patel during the post-match presentation said that it’s is very important to assess the line and speed of bowling on the Dubai surface. He elaborated:
“It is difficult but important to assess the lines and the speeds at which we needed to be bowling on this pitch.”

Further Axar Patel told that he felt that Delhi Capitals were few runs short during the powerplay and he also talked about his discussion with West Indies powerhouse Shimron Hetmyer. Axar Patel asserted:
“I thought they were five or ten runs short in the powerplay. The discussion with Hetmyer was about the lines they’d bowl. He told me that they would bowl wide and he asked me to play straight and look for singles.
“Such matches give you a lot of confidence in the knockouts.”
