He has been done in by a knee injury which was aggravated recently as SRH skipper David Warner had revealed that he is suffering from a sore knee and was yet to undergo scans. Warner said that if Natarajan goes for scans, he has to leave the bio-bubble, and on return, he would have to serve a week’s quarantine again.

“He has obviously got a sore knee. Given the circumstance in these bubbles, if he goes and gets a scan, he obviously has to sit out for seven days. He has to get back in quarantine. We are just monitoring him at the moment. The physios are doing their best to analyze from a face point of view but he obviously has to go out and get a scan at some point,” Warner said on Wednesday.

His last game was against Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai on April 11.

T Natarajan To Miss The Remainder Of The IPL 2021 On Doctors’ Advice

It seems that the BCCI and SRH medical team have reached to a consensus that Natarajan shouldn’t aggravate his knee injury further and may be advised not to take further part in the tournament. This would leave SRH trying to find a replacement for the Tamil Nadu bowler.

Sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the IPL have revealed that the pacer could be asked to report back to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. Also when the injury became serious is not known but Natarajan, who spent about two months at the NCA after the Australia tour, did not take part in the last two IPL games for SRH.

It is now expected that the BCCI will ask the franchise to release the pacer, who is still understood to be with SRH in Chennai.

“We have not got the full report but we have been told that he has developed a strain in the knee. He will have to undergo rehab in the NCA,” said the source.

SRH recently won their first match after losing three in a row, by beating Punjab Kings in Chennai on April 21 and got on the points table.
