IPL 2021: Watch - Virat Kohli Involved In Heated Argument With Virender Sharma After Umpire Gives 3rd Wrong Decision Against RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli was fuming at Virender Sharma, the on-field umpire in the Eliminator versus Kolkata Knight Riders, after he had given three incorrect decisions against RCB. All three of those decisions were overturned by RCB with the DRS coming to their aid.

On Monday in Sharjah, Virat Kohli, who is captaining RCB in his last season, let Virender Sharma know that he was utterly unhappy and disappointed with him for giving not one, not two, but three incorrect decisions in the game against RCB – all three lbws.

For the third wrong call, Sharma gave Rahul Tripathi not out when he was hit on the pads by Yuzvendra Chahal. Virat Kohli decided to make usage of the review and it was a successful one as hawk-eye showed the ball to be hitting the stumps.

Sharma was asked by the third umpire to overturn his decision from out to not out. After celebrating the wicket, Virat Kohli went close to the umpire and vented out his feelings. He was, as usual, animated with his actions, indicating that Sharma had made three blunders and there was still more than 10 overs to go in KKR’s innings.

After the over was completed, the umpire then went to the RCB skipper for a chat. This act by Virat Kohli is likely to have some repercussions.

The first two of the three blunders were when RCB were batting: Shahbaz Ahmed and Harshal Patel both were given lbw out by Sharma, when both had hit the ball with the bat. Both the decisions were overturned on the review. To note is that, these two incorrect calls by the umpire cost RCB two runs.

RCB had set KKR a target of 139. Sunil Narine rattled RCB’s batting with a four-wicket haul, dismissing KS Bharat, Virat Kohli, and AB de Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell.
