Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost by 6 wickets against Eoin Morgan-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, October 3.

Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were able to score 115 runs with Kane Williamson being the highest run-scorer with 26 runs under his belt. Also, KKR bowlers shined as Tim Southee, Varun Chakravarthy and Shivam Mavi bagged 2 wickets each.
Chasing the small target in a decent batting pitch Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lost quick wickets of Venkatesh Iyer and Rahul Tripathi. However, Shubman Gill looked strong out in middle and scored an amazing half-century.

Meanwhile, in the end, Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan marched the team towards the victory to get two very crucial points.
I Think If We Got Closer To The 150-mark, Might Have Been Par – Kane Williamson

During the post-match presentation SRH captain, Kane Williamson stated that they were few runs short and 150 could have been a par score. He said:
“I think if we got closer to the 150-mark, might have been par. We did have our chances to squeeze the scoring but it was always going to be tough with such a low score.”
Williamson further added that team Sunrisers Hyderabad needs to go back to the drawing board and re-assess the things after the very poor Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Kane Williamson stated:
“We haven’t been able to identify the right score all season. We need to go back to the drawing board and re-assess things. We could have built more partnerships.”
Williamson signed off by saying they are already out of the tournament so they might introduce fans to new faces in upcoming games. Kane Williamson asserted:
“Unfortunately we were 10-15 short of what would have been a competitive score. He (Malik) has been bowling really quick in the nets and it’s really nice for him to get an opportunity today. Obviously, we’re out of the competition, so it’s a chance for some other boys to also get on the park.”
