IPL 2021: Will Not Tolerate Online Abuse Towards Players And Their Families – RCB Extends Support Towards Dan Christian

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) players Glenn Maxwell, Dan Christian and his pregnant partner Jorgia Dunn received massive online abuse after Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the Eliminator of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

All-rounder Dan Christian who a had poor outing in the match alleged that his pregnant partner Jorgia Dunn received abusive messages after the match. Christian on his Instagram story wrote:

Check out the comments section of my partner’s Instagram post. I didn’t have a great game tonight, but that’s sport. However please leave her out of it,”

Meanwhile, The Royal Challengers Bangalore have now come up with a statement in support of Dan Christian stating that they won’t tolerate the online abuse any player or their loved ones are receiving. Royal Challengers Bangalore tweeted:

We’re 100% with you @danchristian54 and we will not tolerate online abuse towards players and especially towards their families and loved ones,” 

“Winning and losing are a part of this beautiful game we all love. Our players put in the hard work day in and day out to reach the level they’re at. They give it their everything to try and win the game for us!”

Earlier today, Maxwell was furious at the online trolls and he labelled them “Garbage” and ” Disgusting”. He wrote on his official Twitter handle:

Great season by RCB, unfortunately we fell well short of where we thought we should be. Doesn’t take away from an amazing season. Some of the garbage that has been flowing on social media is absolutely disgusting,” 

Glenn Maxwell further added that they are humans too and they give their best on the field. He stated:

We are human beings who are giving out best each and every day. Try being a decent person maybe instead of spreading abuse,”

The 32-year-old thanked the ‘real fans’ for appreciating players by showing love and support. Also, he was angry at the trolls and said “horrible people” make social media a horrible place and “it is unacceptable”. He asserted:

Thank you to the REAL fans that shared love and appreciation for the players giving their all. Unfortunately, there is some horrible people out there that make social media a horrible place to be. It is unacceptable. Please don’t be like them,”
