RCB vs DC: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Predicted Playing XI Against Delhi Capitals (DC)- IPL 2021 Match 56. Royal Challengers Bangalore will be playing their last game on the league stage against Delhi Capitals on Friday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. RCB currently sits at the third position on the points table with 8 wins in 13 matches.

RCB are coming into the contest on the back of two consecutive losses. They wouldn’t be wanting to go into the qualifiers with three losses in a row and thus would be desperate for a win. On that note, we predict their playing XI against Delhi Capitals.

Openers: Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli

Last year, Devdutt Padikkal was RCB’s most successful batsman in UAE. He was the team’s leading run-getter. However, the southpaw has failed to replicate similar performances this year. He played an uncharacteristic knock of 41 runs off 52 balls in the last game.

For RCB to turn their fortunes around, he needs to give a strong start. Virat Kohli is yet to score a big inning but is timing the ball alright.

Middle-order: Srikar Bharat, Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers

With Daniel Christian getting cheaply in the last two games, Srikar Bharat is likely to come as number three, followed by Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers. Glenn Maxwell has been in blistering form. He has been their best batsman this season. Averaging over 40, Maxwell currently has 447 runs in 13 matches.

Also, with the overall batting unit not in the best of form, the franchise should send AB de Villiers early in the innings. They failed to score 13 runs in the final over in the last game. However, RCB might have won the game had AB de Villiers came out to the middle early on in the innings. RCB should play him at number five in the next game.

All-rounders: Daniel Christian, Shahbaz Ahmed, Kyle Jamieson

Daniel Christian has been effective with the ball on the slow tracks of the UAE. He picked two wickets in a single over in the last game to turn the game in his team’s favour against SRH. He finished with figures of 2 for 14 in 3 overs.

Shahbaz Ahmed too has proved to be effective with the ball. He has been bowling in the right areas, not allowing the batsmen to play freely. He finished with returns of 0 for 21 in four overs. In a bid to add strength to the batting unit, Kyle Jamieson is likely to make his way back into the eleven. Also, with RCB finding it difficult to pick wickets in the powerplay, Jamieson could be the solution for that.

Bowlers: Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal

Harshal Patel will once again be the biggest bet for RCB in the bowling department. He has been in the form of his life. Harshal Patel recently became the Indian bowler to pick the most wickets in a single season in IPL.

He picked three wickets in the last game and currently has 29 wickets in 13 matches. Yuzvendra Chahal too, has looked a different bowler since the resumption of IPL 2021 in UAE. Not only has he been economical but also picked wickets consistently.

Chahal has 15 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 21.60. Mohammed Siraj should complete the playing XI. The team would expect him to pick wickets in the powerplay, something which he hasn’t done in the latter half of the competition.
