The ongoing match between the SunRisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians saw a glaring change in the former’s line-up as T Natarajan was left out. T Natarajan has been one of the most effective bowlers in the recent past and enjoyed a breakthrough season last year. Nevertheless, SunRisers’ director of cricket Tom Moody clarified that the left-arm seamer has been rested and not dropped.

SunRisers Hyderabad made four changes to their eleven against the Mumbai Indians in Chennai, leaving out T Natarajan, Wriddhiman Saha, Jason Holder, and Shahbaz Nadeem. Instead, they opted for Virat Singh, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Khaleel Ahmed, and Abhishek Sharma. The SunRisers are the only team in IPL 2021 to lose their first two games, sustaining defeats to Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders.
Natarajan, who grabbed 16 wickets in as many matches last year in the UAE, at 31.50, has so far figures of 4-0-37-1 and 4-0-32-1 in IPL 2021. The 29-year old grabbed the spotlight due to his searing and toe-crushing yorkers at death overs that was integral to the SunRisers Hyderabad reaching the playoffs.
T Natarajan has had quite a lot of cricket under his belt already: Tom Moody
Tom Moody, who engaged in a chat during the play, underlined that the Salem-born seamer has been rested and not dropped since it’s part of managing the workload. The former Australian all-rounder understands that it’s a lengthy tournament and that Natarajan has had quite a lot of cricket under his belt already.
