Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has pointed out a problem that team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have. Notably, team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have lost yet another match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 UAE  leg, this time against MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 wickets.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) lost the toss and they were invited to bat first by MS Dhoni and the openers Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli did an outstanding job by adding 111 runs for the first wicket.

However, after that, they faced a batting collapse and were able to put only 156 runs on the board at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Kevin Pietersen feels that RCB facing a humiliating loss against KKR and then after being in a good position against CSK losing the game is a very big issue.

You can gain momentum through winning and then you can gain momentum through losing as well. If you are going to get hammered like they were against KKR and now you are going to lose a game from being in a very good position then there is a problem. They were 111 for no loss but lost the game, that’s an issue,” Pietersen said in the post-match show on Star Sports.

Notably, Devdutt Padikkal 70 (50) was once again the highest run-getter from team Royal Challengers Bangalore for the second consecutive time in UAE.

When Virat Kohli and co. entered the ground to defend the mediocre total at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, the bowlers were unable to cause any troubles for the openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf Du Plessis. As they managed to add 71 runs. Also after that Moeen Ali (23) and Ambati Rayudu (32) played good innings and Suresh Raina (17) and skipper MS Dhoni (11) comfortably completed the chase.

Talking about RCB’s bowling Kevin Pietersen opined that they are over-dependent on Yuzvendra Chahal and someone else has to step up if RCB wants to get back to winning ways.

There are bowling issues too. We keep saying it, who is the bowler who is going to get wickets… Chahal can’t continue to do it. I know he gets wickets, he gets wickets for RCB but you cannot say to him that you’ve got to do it every match. Somebody else has to stand up. One of the seamers have to stand up,” he added.

After the loss RCB is still sitting at number 3 in the points table. Meanwhile, CSK is now at the top of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 standings.
