Captain of the Chennai Super Kings, MS Dhoni, is gearing up for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), probably his last one too, as reflected in a recent video uploaded by the franchise.

After an underwhelming season last year, both for the team and the MS Dhoni individually as well, the Ranchi-born is ready to fire all cylinders to clasp his hands one more time on the coveted IPL trophy.

CSK uploaded a short captivating video of the skipper practising in the nets where he can be seen playing his shots, using his muscles, aiming to clear the boundary rope during the match. CSK finished 7th on the points table last season failing to qualify for the playoffs for the first time, with MS Dhoni scoring an ordinary 200 runs at a strike rate of 116.28.

This video, of the skipper hammering the balls, will give CSK fans plenty of hope for a better result this year.

“Thala Paraak fully loaded! #WhistlePodu #Yellove,” the video was captioned.

CSK roped in Krishnappa Gowtham and Moeen Ali for big amounts in the auction to address their lack of firepower last season; Ali could also be seen opening given his clean striking ability. Their middle-order will be boosted by the return of Suresh Raina, who pulled out of the IPL 2020 due to personal reasons.

Youngsters Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sam Curran were their biggest positives from a rather underwhelming season; they have also roped in Robin Uthappa and Cheteshwar Pujara for opening options. The fans would also be delighted to see the form of Shardul Thakur- the pacer was largely impressive with his variations and shrewdness in the recent series against England.

While the 3-time champions have a strong squad, with a mix of youth and experience, however, several of its players, including MS Dhoni himself, are coming without any high-level match experience in recent times. CSK begin their campaign on April 10th against Delhi Capitals in Mumbai.
