Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was unstoppable on Sunday against the Royal Challengers Bangalore as he equalled the highest number of runs scored in an over in IPL. Ravindra Jadeja went hammer and tongs in the 20th over bowled by Harshal Patel, smacking 37 runs, including five sixes to carry his side to a formidable total. The all-rounder’s wife and daughter were seen celebrating his exploits in Mumbai.
Ravindra Jadeja arrived to bat in the 14th over when Harshal Patel was in the middle of what could’ve been an excellent bowling spell. The 32-year old walked to the crease after Patel removed Suresh Raina and Faf Du Plessis in back to back deliveries and conceded only one run in that over. But despite picking three wickets, the right-arm speedster’s figures looked deflated due to the 20th over.
The Saurashtra cricketer started the 20th over by depositing two sixes in two balls over deep mid-wicket. Jadeja punished Patel for another maximum as he delivered a waist-high no-ball, followed by yet another mighty six off the free hit. The southpaw collected the fourth maximum off the third ball to reach a 25-ball fifty and finished the innings with a four. Chennai Super Kings reached 191 in 20 overs, with Jadeja remaining unbeaten at 62 off 28 balls. His boundary count comprised of four fours and five sixes.
