Mumbai Indians batsman Ishan Kishan has been going through a tough phase in the IPL 2021 with a string of failures and it continued into yesterday’s game against RCB as well. Ishan Kishan had a brilliant IPL in UAE in the previous edition which earned him a spot in the Indian squad but since then, the left-hander has gone on a downward spiral.

Ishan was named in the Indian squad for the T20 Worldcup recently ahead of seasoned campaigners Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer which could be a concern for India now. Ishan had failed to make a big score so far in this edition and has scored just 107 runs in 8 games.

Virat Kohli Shows His Concern For Youngster Ishan Kishan

After the match ended, a video had become viral on Twitter of Virat Kohli consoling the Mumbai Indians youngster Ishan Kishan. The latter made his international T20 debut under Virat Kohli and scored a half-century which he will remember forever, and Kohli was quite pleased about him earlier.

It is not often that Virat Kohli is seen consoling a youngster after a failure and that shows the amount of belief he has in Ishan Kishan. Even Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has also told about not wanting to add pressure on the youngster Ishan Kishan. This could be a huge boost for Ishan Kishan and he needs a big score high time.

RCB Move Closer To A Playoff Spot

Virat Kohli and his men made sure that they kept up the pressure from tight bowling and Glenn Maxwell’s all-around show made the difference. Harshal Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal were excellent with the ball picking up 7 wickets together and it was the perfect icing on the cake for RCB. The win has taken them to 12 points from 10 games to hold on to their 3rd position and they will have a breather as well.
