Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Glenn Maxwell had to deliver in IPL 2021 today and provide evidence of his unprecedented potential in the shortest format. After a forgettable IPL 2020, Glenn Maxwell was still in high demand in the IPL 2021 auction as Royal Challengers Bangalore won the dog fight by paying INR 14.25 crores. And the 32-year old is doing complete justice in the ongoing season opener against Mumbai Indians in Chennai as he hit a massive six.

The incident occurred in the 11th over off Krunal Pandya’s left-arm spin-bowling. Krunal delivered a length ball at middle stump and Maxwell pounced on it to hit the ball cleanly over the long-on region. The ball came off the middle of the 32-year old’s bat and went to the roof of Chepauk’s stadium. Captain Virat Kohli, who was batting at the other end, and it left the 100-meter six completely stunned.
Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore restricted the defending champions Mumbai Indians to 159 despite missing three simple catches after electing to field first. Harshal Patel claimed five wickets to become the first bowler to take a fifer against the franchise, while Mohammed Siraj and Kyle Jamieson also bowled economically. The Royal Challengers lost Washington Sundar, Virat Kohli, and Rajat Patidar at the time of writing this.
