Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni celebrated his side’s fourth IPL victory in his usual calm demeanor. The 40-year-old legendary cricketer led CSK to a convincing 27-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Dubai on Friday.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis led the way with the bat for the Men in Yellow before the bowlers applied the finishing touches. It was CSK’s 4th title, just one behind Mumbai Indians’ five wins. Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, Dhoni said:

Coming to CSK, we shuffled players. We had match winners coming game after game and doing really well. Every final is special, if you look at stats, we may say we’re the most consistent team to lose the final too. I feel it’s important to come back strong, especially in the knockouts,” Dhoni added.

The skipper further added that the support of the fans has been overwhelming, even while playing away from home. The stadium was filled with CSK fans in yellow, comfortably outnumbering the KKR supporters.

Our practice sessions have been good. I would love to thank the fans, wherever we’ve played, even when we were in South Africa, we’ve always had a good number of CSK fans. That is what you crave for. Thanks to all of them, it feels like we’re playing in Chennai. Hopefully, we’ll be back in Chennai for the fans,” Dhoni added.

CSK beat KKR by 27 runs in the final of the IPL 2021 season to become the champions for the fourth time.
