The ongoing Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is currently taking place between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. Exciting first innings were on the offer as both teams stepped in at crucial junctures.
Asked to bat first, CSK were served with a great start as Ruturaj Gaikwad (60) and Devon Conway (40) smashed 87 runs for the opening partnership. Their dazzling hands put the MS Dhoni-led side in the dominant position at the halfway stage.
Ravindra Jadeja was bowled out by Mohammed Shami on the last ball of the innings and it’s fair to say that it deprived CSK of a total of 175 runs as he batted brilliantly. The pacer bowled a slower delivery, to which the all-rounder tried to clear his front leg and missed the ball that crashed onto the stumps.
