Sunrisers Hyderabad’s performance in the 15th Indian Premier League was quite underwhelming as the team fell short of the playoffs despite having a five-match winning streak at one point in the competition. With six victories in 14 games, SRH finished the campaign in eighth place.

The Hyderabad club administration has made some brave decisions and released a total of 12 players from their squad in an effort to make apologies, including players like Kane Williamson and Nicholas Pooran.

Many of the players on the list of those who have been publicly revealed are known short-format performers, and some of them are anticipated to be in great demand during the IPL 2023 auction. There are others, though, that might not pique the franchisees’ attention and end up unsold at the future auction.

Let’s have a look at the 3 players released by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) who might go unsold in the auction.

Sean Abbott

Australian all-rounder Sean Abbott was roped in for INR 2.4 crore by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2022 IPL auction.

Abbott, who is renowned for putting out all-around efforts in the Big Bash League (BBL), has struggled with his fitness in recent years. He missed a number of Australia’s international contests as well as numerous BBL games for his team, the Sydney Sixers.

He played only 1 game in the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League, conceding 47 runs in his quota of 4 overs and taking 1 wicket.

Vishnu Vinod

Vishnu Vinod is an exciting prospect and a well-known name in the Indian domestic circuit. He is an aggressive opening batsman and wicketkeeper from Kerala who enjoys playing white-ball cricket.

He was selected by the Sunrisers Hyderabad at his base price of 20 lakh rupees during the 2022 IPL auction. However, he was unable to crack the starting lineup and was forced to sit out the entire campaign.

Ravikumar Samarth

Ravikumar Samarth was bought in the IPL 2022 by Sunrisers Hyderabad for his base price of 20 Lakhs. The right-handed batter was not given any opportunity to take part in the playing 11.

As far as domestic cricket is concerned, Samarth has been an integral part of the Karnataka team but his T20 record does not offer much. He has played 23 T20 games and scored just 275 runs at a pathetic average of 13.75 and a strike rate of 94.5 Therefore, the possibility of him getting any bids in the auction is very less unless he impresses any club while on trial.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Released Player List:

Jagadeesha Suchith, Kane Williamson*, Nicholas Pooran*, Priyam Garg, R Samarth, Romario Shepherd*, Saurabh Dubey, Sean Abbott*, Shashank Singh, Shreyas Gopal, Sushant Mishra, Vishnu Vinod
