West Indies players have always been high in demand in the Indian Premier League, thanks to their all-around abilities and the brutal force of players like Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, etc.
In contrast to players from other countries who might need to leave just as the tournament is approaching its conclusion in order to go on international duty, players from Cricket West Indies avoid scheduling any international cricket to coincide with the IPL, ensuring that their players will be available for the entire competition.

The 2023 IPL auction will take place in Kochi on December 23. Unlike the previous season’s mega-auction in February, the BCCI will conduct a mini-auction for the forthcoming season.
Ahead of the auction, all ten franchises released a list of players they retained and released from the squad.
A total of 85 players were released ahead of the auctions, and some of the big names include Mayank Agarwal, Kane Williamson, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, and Pat Cummins. While the players mentioned above are likely to receive heavy cash in the auction, several players fear going unsold.
Let’s have a look at the 3 players from West Indies who might go unsold in the IPL 2023 auction.
Fabian Allen
The Jamaican all-rounder has played T20 franchise cricket all over the world. Since his West Indies debut in 2018, he has consistently played for the team. However, Fabian Allen did not participate in the IPL 2022 season.
He only took part in one game, and in his four overs, he cost 46 runs and one wicket. Since then, the Mumbai Indians have not started him in their starting 11.
Dwayne Bravo
The sight of Dwayne Bravo‘s name on the list of released players was the biggest surprise for the audience. The 39-year-old West Indies veteran worked for CSK for ten years and currently leads the IPL in wickets taken. Bravo has taken 183 wickets, but given his advanced age, it seems doubtful that any team will select him.
Bravo had 16 wickets in the previous edition, but he was unable to contribute because of Chennai’s strong batting lineup. Bravo has only scored 77 runs over the last three seasons, and he hasn’t really shown off his all-around talent.
Dominic Drakes
Dominic Drakes, who had previously been a member of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team, was acquired by Gujarat Titans during IPL 2022. He did not play in any games and spent the whole IPL 2022 warming the benches.
The presence of Mohammad Shami, Yash Dayal, and Lockie Ferguson in Gujarat’s bowling ranks created an intense competition that the left-arm bowler was unable to handle. Drakes has participated in 10 T20 International matches for West Indies and has taken six wickets. In T20Is, he has a bowling average of 48.3.
